Japan-based One Asia Foundation Project reaches Gurugram

Formed with the objective of establishing strong Asian Community in the future and make this continent a major player in the world, the prestigious One Asia Foundation Project has travelled from Tokyo to Gurugram.

The Gurugram-based Amity University Haryana (AUH) has bagged the prestigious One Asia Foundation Project for creating awareness of Asian history, politics, economies, art and culture amongst its students.

For the purpose, the AUH has One-Asian Community Theory course split in 14 weekly sessions.

This 3-credit certificate course with 45 seats is open for all AUH students.

Prof. Ashok Tiku, Head – Amity School of Languages and Amity BRICS Centre said, “It’s a matter for pride for AUH to have bagged prestigious One Asia Foundation Project for making the students aware of history, politics, economies, art, culture and features of the Asian continent and its constituent countries.”

Prof. Tiku said that the course was being formally launched from Friday (February 8) for the AUH students.

“The course will offer the students an opportunity to listen to noted academicians from Japan, Korea, China, India and other Asian countries and know in depth about these countries.

The One Asia Foundation Project the AUH has bagged will terminate in April.

However, the AUH may get extension of the project if it does well and needs to apply for the same.

According to the www.oneasia.or.jp/en/ – the official website of the One Asia Foundation, the Foundation aims to contribute to the establishment of Asian Community in the future.

“Our aim is to help formation of a community of over 40 countries and more than 4.4 billion people, over half of the population of the world, in Asia in the near future. Such a community will include Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia and Central Asia,” it says.

“To this purpose, our Foundation carries out or supports various activities which will stimulate a common sense of values among Asian people through economic, educational, cultural exchanges as well as citizens’ good-will meetings to deepen their mutual understanding. The target of these activities is to create a rich, peaceful and secure Asian Community where people can live together each holding their own dreams and hopes, which will result in global peace and security,” it says.

One Asia Foundation financially supports organizations and groups which share its goal of contributing to the formation of Asian Community in the near future. It also supports financially support colleges, institutions, scholars working towards making Asian communities stronger.
