The South Korean artist has earned a household name with Indian fans, and his appearance is poised to be a defining moment for the country’s burgeoning love affair with Korean pop culture.

Being organised by Korea’s Number 1 expo management company, MESSE ESANG, the BeautySum India 2025 is hosting a fan meeting with India’s popular K-performance influencer Aoora, alongside 100+ micro and nano influencers. Aoora isn’t new to India’s adulation. His journey from Seoul to the subcontinent has been marked by regular crossovers—from viral musical tributes to reality TV breakthroughs. The anticipation for his performance at India’s premier Korean beauty and lifestyle expo is soaring, as Aoora brings with him not just music, but a deep cultural connection built over years of engagement with Indian fans.

A Bond Built on Music and Culture: Aoora’s tryst with India began with his viral renditions of Bollywood classics, most notably Bappi Lahiri’s “Jimmy Jimmy” from Disco Dancer. Blending K-pop beats with Indian melodies, he won millions of hearts and racked up views on social media.

In 2023, he was invited for a series of concerts across India to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between India and South Korea—a testament to his growing influence in the region. At a Mathura performance, he sang “Woh Kisna Hai” in Hindi, leaving audiences awe-struck and affirming his affection for Indian music and culture.

Aoora’s connection with India deepened in reality TV, where he became the first Korean participant in the hit show Bigg Boss 17. There, his mix of Korean charm and infectious enthusiasm resonated with a broad Indian audience. He later graced the stage of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, further expanding his footprint in the Indian entertainment landscape.

But his Indian story isn’t limited to the glitz of showbiz. Aoora has spoken in interviews about how India has been “incredibly therapeutic” for him, so much so that he rented an apartment in Mumbai’s Malad suburb. “The warmth I’ve experienced makes me feel good. India as a country has been incredibly therapeutic for me,” he shared, adding that he finds Bollywood films a deep reflection of the society and hopes to feature in Indian movies someday.

Aoora’s fascination with Indian content led him to learn local languages, collaborate with regional musicians—including a viral Malayalam track—and express admiration for icons like Shah Rukh Khan and Honey Singh.

A Cultural Ambassador: Aoora sees himself as a cultural bridge, striving to promote understanding between Korea and India. “There are so many striking similarities between these two countries, and I want to bring them closer, culturally,” he has said. His frequent social media posts showcase not just musical covers, but snippets from his travels across India, reflecting his genuine engagement with the country’s sights, sounds, and people.
