Japan and Singapore City Proposed in NOIDA near Int’l Airport
Following UP Chief Minister's 4-day tour of Singapore and Japan, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath returned with a massive haul of ₹1.5 lakh crore in signed MoUs and ₹2.5 lakh crore in fresh investment proposals.
LUCKNOW – Uttar Pradesh’s push toward a $1-trillion economy received a monumental boost as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath successfully concluded his official visit to Singapore and Japan on February 26, 2026. The visit, which was the Chief Minister’s first standalone foreign investment outreach, yielded commitments across high-tech sectors, including semiconductors, green hydrogen, and data centers, with the potential to create over 5 lakh new jobs in the state.

The Japan leg of the tour proved exceptionally productive, resulting in agreements worth ₹90,000 crore. During a series of high-level meetings in Tokyo and Yamanashi, the Chief Minister engaged with industry giants such as Suzuki Motor Corporation, Honda Cars India, and Mitsui & Co. A major highlight was the finalization of a 500-acre “Japan City” to be developed near the Noida International Airport under the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).
The state also secured partnerships with Kubota Corporation for agricultural machinery and Japan Aviation Electronics Industry (JAE) for advanced electronic interfaces.
In Singapore, the Chief Minister focused on strengthening financial and logistics ties, securing MoUs valued at ₹60,000 crore. High-profile meetings were held with the leadership of sovereign wealth funds GIC and Temasek Holdings, as well as DBS Group, to explore long-term institutional investment in UP’s infrastructure.
A significant deal was inked with real estate developer 1-OAK for a ₹3,000-crore project, while discussions with Singaporean officials paved the way for a dedicated “Singapore City” and a world-class skilling center modeled after Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education (ITE).
Beyond industrial deals, the trip was marked by significant cultural diplomacy and technological exploration. In Japan, the Chief Minister inspected the state-of-the-art L0-series Maglev train and toured FANUC Corporation’s automation plant, discussing the integration of industrial robotics into UP’s MSME sector.
To solidify clean energy goals, an agreement was reached to establish a Green Hydrogen Centre of Excellence in collaboration with the University of Yamanashi and premier Indian institutes like IIT Kanpur and IIT BHU.
Upon his arrival at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, the Chief Minister expressed his confidence that the visit had placed Uttar Pradesh firmly on the global investment map. He noted that the world now views the state as a “dream destination” due to its vastly improved law and order, robust infrastructure, and transparent policies. To maintain this momentum, the Governor of Japan’s Yamanashi Prefecture is expected to lead a delegation of 200 CEOs to Uttar Pradesh later this year to finalize further industrial clusters.
