NEW DELHI. The coronavirus pandemic has shattered the study abroad plans of many students and made them uncertain about their future. Due to the pandemic, many important examinations ended up being delayed or canceled. And thus many students are reconsidering their decision to study abroad, and Taiwan is one of the safest countries on the list.

Taiwan has been globally appreciated for successfully controlling the Coronavirus pandemic in the country. Taiwanese people still lead a normal life in schools, offices, and companies. The government took swift action to control the spread of the virus, and was also successful at doing so; making it an even more attractive option for students planning to study abroad.

Education Director of Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre (TECC) in India, Peters Chen said, “Students who wish to go abroad for further studying may now take time to apply for admission ahead during the lockdown, and make a final decision according to the development of COVID-19 pandemic afterward.”

The MOE provides government scholarships to prospective students, and this hasn’t been affected by the pandemic, moreover, the deadline for the application has been extended till April 30th, 2020, even longer according to the lockdown period.

Education Director of Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India, Peters Chen said, “The deadlines of application to Universities in Taiwan have been extended for the convenience of students as well so that everyone gets a chance to apply. Applicants may submit their degree certificates before the end of the year.”

He added, “For example, with education quality accredited by AACSB and IEET, I-Shou University is offering English-taught doctoral programs to international students or the faculty members of universities overseas. The deadline for the application will be on July 20, 2020. Applicants who obtain a master’s degree in fields related to computer science/information technology, Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering, or Management are welcome to apply for admission and scholarships. 3 years of tuition will be waived and the University will offer 3-year accommodation, which is very attractive.”
