BTS Come to India but 3-5 years later when we grow young: Teenager K-pop fans
NEW DELHI: Hundreds of thousands of teenaged K-pop fans aged between 13 and 18 and many tweens (13 or less than 13 years) in India are thrilled over the possibility of a world-famous BTS band coming to India on its next world tour.
But they are equally sad too for not being able to attend the concert (if it happens sometime early next year) in India for not getting permission from their parents for the same as they are too young to attend it. Costly concert tickets are another worry for them as many of them come from middle-income families.
So, these teens, instead, wish BTS or any Korean pop band to come to India not anytime soon but 3-5 years later when they grow young and can attend the concert.
Kim Jungminn, a K-pop fan writes to Asian Community News, “No, not next year. Come after 6 or 7 years cause maximum ARMYS are high school students or teenagers they can’t afford ticket prices. So please come after some years.”
Kim echoes popular sentiments harbored by the majority of the teenager or highschool-going K-pop fans across the Indian subcontinent.

“I am an Indian Army! We all are excited to see BTS in India! Most of the Army’s are teenagers. We can’t afford concert tickets. We can’t travel from our hometown to the capitals. It will be helpful to the ARMY if they postponed their world tour to India for 4-5 years! We are lacking from many sources even though they come to India we are unable to see them in person and it will be heartbreaking to us,” says Priya, another K-pop lover.
Another teen Abiya Mary Jose who is ready to travel to Korea to attend to BTS concert when she grows young.

She says, “I’m only 14 and I can’t afford it. As an ARMY my parents won’t allow attending the concert. If BTS is coming after 3or 4 years then I will try my best to attend. If I can’t, then I will travel to Korea after getting a good job. Because my parents won’t give me money.”
The ardent Korean pop fans spread across India are worried about the travel pangs as India is a huge country and traveling from one state to another is a cause of worry especially the teenagers.
“I’m 15 and from Kolkata. I really love them and want to join the Purple ocean once in my lifetime but If BTS come they will do a concert either in Mumbai or Delhi. And my parents won’t allow me to go by spending that much money (Ticket cost + Plane ticket + Purchase + Marches). Moreover, if I meet these 7 worlds I can’t stop myself from gifting them foods or other products they like and I don’t get that much pocket money. And if I save it though I can’t go alone outside the city. I really want them to come Here too India but I can’t meet you…I’m sorry this little fan of yours can’t meet you… But if they come after 2 or 3 years then it would be really fun…But it is okay I can stop myself… But yeah I will meet you 7 worlds specially Jungkook-ah…,” writes Pranali.

So, there are numerous innocent and emotional reactions shared with Asian Community News with most of them wanting BTS to delay their Indian tour so that they can join them when they grow adult.
However, there are few K-pop fans who want BTS to carry on with their Indian tour plans and reach India as early as possible.
“It’s irrational to tell them (BTS) to come after 4-5 years. Yes, there are young fans in the fandom, but also a large proportion of people above 20s with stable jobs. It’s not a loss of a lifetime to miss out on a concert, even if it is BTS. As a student, focus on your education so that you can achieve the greatest and afford a great seat for yourself in the stadium. Trust me, it’s more worth it than flexing on your parents’ money!,” says Malvika Pant.
Reena Teena writes, “We are very excited to see BTS in our country. All Indian army is waiting for them. I am just 13 years old, and my parents won’t allow me to attend the BTS concert, even though they allow us I am worried about the costlier tickets. So, if BTS wants to visit India, India always welcomes them and don’t cancel your tour for us, there are many armies who are waiting for them. Please visit INDIA for them, and hope you guys will have a nice trip in INDIA. We purple you BTS.”
Many of the K-pop fans have a word of advice to teenagers and offer a solution to their concerns.
Limin says, “Follow me, man, sit down and explain to your parents and show them who are they. Share with them, how they have struggled. They teach people good things, like how to love yourself and speak yourself, etc. In my case, my mom only knows about the relation between BTS and me. And am pretty sure that she will convince dad.”
Indian ARMIES always welcome them(BTS), no matter when they will visit, now or 3-4 yrs after. The difference will be, now teenagers ARMIES won’t able to visit them💜😭😔. Like Me.😭

Really i want bts come to india and i am very excited to see bts all member . when the bts come to india next year, so i will face a lot of difficulty because i am still very young,that is why my parents will not agree that i go to see the program of bts next year and my parents won’t allow me to go by spending that much money .so really want if bts is coming after 3or 4 years then i witt try my best for attend his programe .and it’s my last thing i really love bts all member especially jungkook.
Honestly I think the article and the ideology of it is absolutely wrong…I am 35 years old ,working A.R.M.Y mom and I myself know a ton of armys around my age.. I am really concerned for the teen armys coz my children are fans too.. Please think about others as well before passing statements like “come after 4-5yrs”.. it really doesn’t make sense obviously coz after you there is the next gen who also will request..please understand that this is a neverending cycle…When BTS or any group for that matter ,when they show some interest in investing their time in our country, it’s basic to welcome them and keep our wishes aside. Indian Armies I can understand your problems and pains, even I am a Teenager and I doubt my parents would allow me to attend the concert……..
But as we know about the compulsory military service in Korea they will have to enlist for military, I know the age limit is increased, but that doesn’t mean they won’t. Jin will have to enlist next year and others will also eventually enlist themselves……
I want entire BTS to come to India, not just few members……..and if you say they should come after 4 to 5 years how many members would be there????
So I think it is better to just go with the flow and let them come when they want to….

I think that BTS should come as soon as possible. I myself am 13 years old with a mother who hates anything that isn’t Indian or fitting in with her Hindu customs. I don’t even get pocket money to buy the tickets for the concert,just like many of my ARMY friends. But that doesn’t mean that BTS have to wait for another 4-5 years. I have been an ARMY since 2018 and have been eagerly waiting for BTS to come to India. So let them come if they want to.
Fans in India are not just between 13 and 18, there are youths and middle aged. BTS will be coming soon after the pandemic. Please do your home work before writing an article. You are making fans lose hope, since we are waiting them for years. It’s secondary that fans are ready for tickets or not. If they have planned we somehow will arrange for it. Yes really I’m also a teenager and my age is 14 years only. I’m a great fan of Bts and an army since 2017. But then also I want BTS to perform in India as early as possible as I want to see them in our country with all the seven members and without Jin it’s really heartbreaking for me and other armies to see Bts. If BTS doesn’t come next year there is no time for them to come. As we all know that each of the members had to go to military service and always remember that the military service time for Jin is almost coming. So Indian ARMYs don’t beg BTS to come after 3-5 years because BTS would never be able to come at that that time.

I’ve been an ARMY for 6 years and I think I’ve waited long enough. I know there are many young ARMYs out there too who either can’t afford to or won’t be allowed to go. But asking BTS to come 4-6 years later is really really selfish. What about the other ARMYs who can afford to go and want to ? It’s unfair to them. When you grow up you can always go. But don’t try and spoil it for others just because you can’t go. I’d sacrifice my pocket money for years, give up birthday gifts do anything to be able to attend the concert. I’ve honestly waited far too long to go for a concert and coronavirus is already stretching it out. Please don’t make such pleads it’s really selfish . OK but this is rubbish, there are fans who are 18+ and even working women and men. The girls made it sound like BTS only has teenager fans. Even my mother is an ARMY. BTS should come to India when ever they feel like and if possible they should come on their next World Tour. Of course we don’t have to worry to much , because until pandemic ends ,there is no chance of offline/in person concert..We don’t know when this stupid Corona will end because many countries are facing 2nd and 3rd wave infections.2021 is of course little difficult..So after 2 years ,we can see some normality again..I prefer BTS safety and health first,until pandemic ends ,big hit entertainment will not take any risk..One day they will come to India 100% sure..I will do my best to attend their concert after pandemic..Don’t worry teenage fans..

So i decided to save money and keep my body fit for my kookie. But i couldn’t coz i don’t have a job and I’m just a teenage girl. So i can never get a job right now. So if BTS come India after 3-5 years we can meet them…..and namjoon oppa too 💜💜 I’ll be really pleased….. Hope I’ll meet them and attend concert without any support and using all my own penny….🙂

If BTS doesn’t come next year there is no time for them to come. As we all know that each of the members had to go to military service and always remember that the military service time for Jin is almost coming. So Indian ARMYs don’t beg BTS to come after 3-5 years because BTS would never be able to come at that that time.

I think bts should come whenever they are planning for..because if they come after 4 or 5 years some members would not be they would be serving in military and we want to see all the members together. I too have the same opinion . It would be even more regretful for not attending the BTS concert held in our native country rather than watching the live stream. K-pop fans in India have their age between 12 to 25.
But most of them are minors i.e., they are under the age 18. We people who are under 18 gain a lot of enthusiasm , inspiration and many more from k-pop. But our elder generation give first priority to work (in case of middle aged people) or studies (in case of students). India, as a developing country, still is not aware of the outside world’s entertainment and many more. Like… Many schools in other countries like Korea, China, Japan etc. give equal importance to studies and arts (such as learning music, dance, sports, and other co curricular activities)…. And I observed that an average person (who is at good terms in his schooling) in other countries, can even compose music based on the music notes written on any page. But that’s not the case in India. Indians are not aware of such arts. Their opinion about arts would be like … Arts are not your bread and butter. I guess their opinions are not those we can ignore because we are still living in a developing country. May be after 5 or 7 generations India can reach the strategies of present well developed countries like USA etc.😅 But by then developed countries develop even more…
It’s like running of parallel worlds along with time. We youth think that art and music etc are part of life whivh help us gain relaxation and help us feel at ease during hard times. I wish I were an excel in any of the art. But…it’s like a dream world forever😔. Our elders can’t understand when we explain about the benefits that we gain from these music. But in their point of view, it is correct that we must work hard without any deviations. The main problem is that our elders ignore the things especially in OTHER LANGUAGES . Such incompatibility draws the line between us and them in terms of arts and music. I’m glad that we are still being in touch with such music and stuff even in these days.
BTS… You are one of the people whom we admire or adore the most. We all K-pop fans wholeheartedly wish that one day we can see the person, from whom we gain something the most, in real. So pleeeaaaseee BTS and other K-pop groups… Please visit India after a few years may be a 3 or 5 if you want to. We honestly plead you. Because we feel regretful for not attending the concert. I just don’t get this. When they didn’t recognise us indian ARMY, everyone of us went like please see us, we are here, please visit India, we’ve been dying to attend your concert and now once we’ve got the recognition, some of us are like- please come after 3-4 years. Guys please understand they also have to go through their mandatory military service. I understand that not everyone of us is born with a silver spoon in their mouths but please, let us cooperate. You know that the video will be available of their concerts and let’s just look up for some work from home jobs in this pandemic situation since most of us are high schoolers. Let us not make our efforts go down the drain, okay?

Army’s please try to understand the fact that as many as people are under the age category from 13 to 18, there are people who are adults and can’t wait to see them. We don’t wanna wait until 3 or 4 years or maybe even 6 years according to your wishes. I am pretty sure it won’t be just once it they plan to come to India. Everybody gets their opportunity. So let us utilize it when possible.

Yes I genuinely want them to come after 2/3 years but also it will be too late , even my parents can’t afford for all the tickets and won’t let me go because as you can see there’s a lot of things happening in india yes I’m talking about rape case only ,but there’s a lot of Army’s in india who comes from wealthy family and also who’s earning so I’m sure there will be a lot of Army’s who’ll attend …and I’ll make sure to meet them after I start earning, I’ll travel and visit them 💔💔even after they disband

5-6 years is too late , their contract is for 7 years , and also they will set out for world tour once the virus is all over , so that have to come within 2years , even if not next year…

You know the problem why Indian wants them to come after 3-5 years is because parents here in India doesn’t really know much about k-pop and that all and they know the reality so they don’t trust anyone about their child so that’s the first problem. Teens are facing another problem that’s the money. Teens here don’t have their own money and not allowed to work independently as well so they can only rely on their parents but they don’t trust all these. The average age of all people watching bts is 14-17 years and the tickets to bts concert costs very high.
