Haryana CM proposes Japanese Cos. Cluster in his hometown Narayangarh, near Chandigarh
The Chief Minister is likely to visit Japan from October 6 to 8, to attend the World Expo in Osaka and will also see the Haryana Pavilion there.
Gurugram, India – Already home to top Japanese companies, especially in Gurugram, the Haryana Government has suggested a dedicated cluster for the Japanese companies in the northern part of the state. The Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, today proposed the idea of setting up this cluster in his hometown, Narayangarh, in the Ambala district, near the state capital, Chandigarh.
The CM invited Japanese companies to make an investment and set up their manufacturing facilities in his hometown during a meeting with the senior representatives of five Japanese companies in Gurgam today.
These included Goro Saway, MD, ROKI UNO Minda; Masato Kitamae, MD, and Katsuhito Akaba, Director, Denso Haryana; Vinay Dhingra, Senior Director, and Katsuyuki Ojawa, Director, Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HSMI); Yusuke Tabuchi, Director, Yokohama; and Hitetoh Yamada and June Sato, General Managers, Mitsui Kinzoku Components.
The 11th Chief Minister of Haryana and a senior BJP leader, Saini, was born in the village of Mirjapur Majra, under Narayangarh in the Ambala district, on January 25, 1970. However, he won the assembly elections from the Ladwa Assembly constituency of Kurukshetra district in 2024 and was elected as the 12th CM for the second term. Previously, he was made the 11th CM of the state in place of the former CM Manohar Lal Khattar, who moved to the Central Government as a Union Minister.

While interacting with representatives of Japanese companies, Saini stated that Narayangarh, which shares boundaries with three states and one union territory, is strategically located near Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab, at a distance of only 40–45 kilometres, which will significantly boost trade.

The representatives of Japanese companies that are members of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII) assured the CM that they would consider the proposal on a positive note.
The Chief Minister informed the meeting that he was likely to lead a delegation of senior state government officials from the Haryana Foreign Cooperation department and HSIIDC to visit Japan from October 6 to 8, to attend the World Expo in Osaka and will also see the Haryana Pavilion there.
On this occasion, an MoU was also signed with HSMI for C&D (Construction and Demolition) Waste Management. Under this agreement, the government will provide land and waste for setting up the plant, while Honda will manufacture tiles from the waste.
The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of utilising Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for meaningful development projects. He stated that CSR funds should be allocated through the Deputy Commissioner to ensure their optimal utilisation and maximum benefit to the public. CSR funds can support initiatives such as language courses in hospitals and higher education institutions.
During the meeting, Haryana’s Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma, former Sohna MLA Tejpal Tanwar, Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar, Media Advisor to Chief Minister Rajeev Jaitely, and CCI Sunil Sharma were also present.
Rao Narbir Singh urged industrial units to actively collaborate with the government and administration to accelerate CSR activities, enabling people to benefit effectively.
