GURUGRAM: As part of its COVID-19 sample collection drive, the Urban Primary Health Center (UPHC), Sukhrali organized two COVID-testing camps in Sector 14 on October 9 and 10, and conducted a total of 129 tests of the residents of the area during these two days.

The UPHC has announced to organize the next COVID testing camp on October 19 (Monday) in the HUDA market parking lot in Sector 14 between 5.00 pm and 8.00 pm, said Anoop Singh, Municipal Councillor, Ward  No. 6.

The samples so collected during these camps are free-of-cost as the patients/suspects are not charged any amount for these tests. Anybody with mild to normal symptoms can visit these camps and get tested for COVID-19.

On October 9, the UPHC led by Dr. Parvesh organized a COVID-19 sample collection camp in the parking lot of HUDA Market in Sector 14 between 5.00 pm and 8.00 pm, and the team of 1mg testing van collected 61 samples, in both RT PCR and Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) modules.

The next day on Sunday (October 10), the UPHC, Sukhrali organized the camp on the premises of Government Middle School in Sector 14 and collected 68 samples (RT PCR 57 and RAT 11) from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm.

According to Anoop Singh, the information about organising these two testing camps was very well circulated well in advance in all the groups on social media platforms to ensure more and more people take advantage of the opportunity.

“We have another COVID-19 camp being organised on October 19 in the HUDA market, and we are going to circulate this information in all the concerned groups to make the area people aware of this,” said Anoop Singh.

Though the turnout at the COVID-19 camps was said to be satisfactory, the number could have been better if the word about these camps was spread with the help of the area Residents Welfare Association (RWA).

Unfortunately, the Gurgoan administration has dissolved the RWA of Sector 14, and an administrator was appointed to run the affairs of the local body early this year.

The people turning up on these testing camps not only hailed from the posh locality but also from the surrounding slum clusters.
