PUNE/TOKYO: The India-Japan Business Council (IJBC)’s flagship annual festival Konnichiwa Pune 2022 is back with a bang in Pune. Celebrating trade, business, culture, food, music, and people-to-people connect, the 3-day event Konnichiwa Pune 2022 (November 18 to 20th, 2022), would have three key elements: India-Japan Business Conference, India-Japan Education Conference, and India-Japan Cultural Festival. It’s being co-organined with Consulate General of Japan, Mumbai.

The India-Japan Business Conference is being organised on 18th November at Hotel Sayaji, Pune, India-Japan Education Conference on 19th November at MCCIA, Pune, and India-Japan Cultural Festival on 19th and 20th November at Phoenix Marketcity, Pune.

Every year since 2018, the audience from across India including those from Maharashtra as well as in Japan wait with bated breath for this mega Indo-Japan festival. Konnichiwa Pune 2022 is one of the major events the IJBC is organisnig to celebrate throughout the year 2022 as the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Japan.

As Siddharth Deshmukh, Co-Founder and President, IJBC puts it, Konnichiwa Pune is a three-day festival by Indo-Japan Business Council. The Festival aims to bring people, businesses, and educational institutes together. Konnichiwa Pune seeks to promote the exchange of trade, culture, and educational ties between India and Japan in a friendly festive manner.

Indo-Japan Business Council (IJBC), established in 2011, is the apex bi-lateral Chamber synergizing India-Japan engagement in business, trade, commerce, education, and culture. IJBC is continually working to enhance India-Japan Business and Economic Engagement. Today IJBC has a pan India presence.

With a long-term strategic aim of economic convergence, India-Japan relations have been strengthening. IJBC Business Conference during Konnichiwa Pune will bring business leaders, government agencies, and intellectuals to deliberate challenges, and opportunities.

During the 2018 Annual Summit, both Prime Ministers signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC), setting the groundwork for Japan-India cooperation. The skill set, core competencies, and business processes that India and Japan bring together are highly complementary in nature. Japanese ecosystem boasts of companies excellent on the hardware, manufacturing, engineering, and industrial side, while India has strengths in software and human resources.

India-Japan Education Conference 19th November 2022, 9 am to 1 pm at MCCIA, Pune

The conference will provide a forum for students, acclamations, researchers, and policymakers to identify opportunities, issues, and solutions. It will also help promote university ties, student exchange, research & development.

India-Japan Education Conference is organised by Higher Education and Research Committee (HERC) of IJBC. HERC’s objectives are to promote university ties, student exchange, research and development, and academic excellence in humanities, art, culture, economics, managment, science and technology. India-Japan Cultural Festival 19th and 20th November 2022, 3 pm to 10 pm at Phoenix Marketcity, Pune

Siddharth Deshmukh, Founder, and CEO of ShimBi Labs. A technologist, business leader, and philanthropist. He believes in solving significant problems of Small Businesses.

Graduated from VRC (Now VNIT), Nagpur, as a Mechanical Engineer. Visited Japan in 2000 on a 3-month tourist VISA, fell in love with the country and his future wife. Worked as a freelance technology consultant with several companies before starting the company Shimbi Labs (www. shimbilabs.com) in 2005 and returning to India.
