Bangalore Korean School Takes a New Leap Forward Safeguarding Korean Roots of Children

Bengaluru – The Bangalore Korean School held its 2026 entrance ceremony today at the Kocon Center in Sahakarnagar, Bengaluru. Attended by 18 students ranging from preschool to elementary levels, the ceremony marked a significant “new leap” for the school rather than a simple start of a semester. 벵갈루루 – 인도 벵갈루루 사하카나가르(Sahakarnagar)에 위치한 코콘 센터(Kocon Center)에서 21일, 뱅갈로 한글학교 입학식이 성황리에 개최되었습니다. 유치부부터 초등부까지 총 18명의 학생이 참석한 이번 입학식은 단순한 학기 시작을 넘어 뱅갈로 한글학교의 ‘새로운 도약’을 알리는 뜻깊은 자리였습니다.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the school has been maintained through the sole dedication of Principal Ms.Yooseon Cheong. However, the school’s operations have gained new momentum as the newly established “Korean Association of Bengaluru & Andhra Pradesh” made “Korean(Hangul) School stabilization” its top priority. 그동안 뱅갈로 한글학교는 코로나19 팬데믹 이후 정유선 교장의 헌신적인 1인 체제로 어려운 환경 속에서도 명맥을 이어왔습니다. 그러나 올해 새롭게 출범한 ‘재인도 벵갈루루·안드라프라데시 한인회’가 ‘한글학교 안정화’를 최우선 과제로 삼으면서 학교 운영에 든든한 날개가 달렸습니다.

This revitalization comes at a time when the demand for Korean language education in India is steadily increasing. 최근 인도 내 한국어 학습 수요가 증가하는 추세 속에서, 교민 자녀들을 위한 체계적인 교육의 장이 다시 활기를 띠게 된 것입니다.

During the ceremony, Principal Ms.Yooseon Cheong pledged to provide safe and meaningful education through a detailed curriculum. Mr.Byunggi Ra, an advisor representing the Korean Association, also promised full support to create an optimal educational environment for the children. 이날 입학식에서 정유선 교장은 “헌신적으로 봉사해 주시는 선생님들과 함께 디테일한 커리큘럼을 바탕으로, 우리 아이들에게 안전하고 의미 있는 교육을 제공하겠다”고 다짐하셨습니다. 한인회 대표로 참석한 라병기 고문 역시 축사를 통해 “우리 아이들이 훌륭하게 성장할 수 있는 교육 환경을 조성하는 데 한인회가 전폭적인 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 약속하셨습니다.

Specific blueprints for growth were also presented. Association President Youngho Jung announced plans to expand the curriculum to include middle school levels by July. He expressed a strong commitment to transforming the school into a professional educational institution by securing support from the Overseas Koreans Agency, obtaining textbooks from the Ministry of Education, and recruiting highly qualified teachers. 학교의 구체적인 발전 청사진도 제시됐다. 정영호 한인회장은 “짧은 준비 기간으로 인해 1학기는 초등부까지만 운영되지만, 오는 7월부터는 중등부까지 교육 과정을 전격 확대할 계획”이라고 밝혔으며, 이어 “재외동포청의 지원과 교육부 교과서를 최대한 확보하고 실력있는 교사진을 충원해, 뱅갈로 한글학교를 명실상부한 전문 교육기관으로 발돋움시키겠다”는 강한 의지를 표명하셨습니다.
