Gimhae & Jeon-Buk Trade delegation led 16 South Korean companies to India for B2B interactions

These SMEs offered innovative products like egg incubator & reptile brooder, cosmetics & medical equipment, LED lighting, printing ink, auto parts, and chemicals.

NEW DELHI: As many as 16 South Korean small, medium and micro enterprises (SMEs) reached India recently to expand their business here and look for the local partners.

Led by Gimhae & Jeon-Buk Trade delegation, these Korean companies represented sectors including Smart Education, Medical/Beauty equipment, Solar Energy, Water Purification Automotive Components, LED lighting, Industrial, Poultry, Printing Ink, Chemical, Passive Fire Protection, and PU Foam, and held business-to-business (B2B) meetings with Indian prospects.

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), India on Nov 8 facilitated the meeting.

Myoungchul Jang, Director, KOTRA, New Delhi told Asian Community News (ACN) Network that Kotra intended to help the SMEs to enter the Indian market, expand their business and look for the right kind of partners here.

“Ten companies from Gimhae and six from Jeonju province and two local authorities of South Korea came with their product offerings. All the participating companies were from the SME sector and offered innovative products like egg incubator & reptile brooder, cosmetics & medical equipment, LED lightings, printing ink, auto parts, and chemicals,” said Myoungchul Jang.

Besides, one-on-one interactions on meeting tables at the venue, the participating companies also put on display their innovative and quality products.

Kim Bo Ho, Chief of Investment Promotion team, GIMHAE, Republic of Korea led the delegation to India. He said that the GIMHAE administration was planning a lot of activities in India as the province felt a strong connection with this country.

The automotive components manufacturing companies from Korea coming to the business meeting on November 8 included Gisan-forging Co., Hanil Ind. Co, Sunprein Co., and Wooshin Industries while Marpe Co. and HUMAN DREAM CO. come from the medical/beauty components industry.

Autoelex Co. Ltd. displayed its innovative incubators for egg hatching as well as for pets.

“Besides its commercial use like poultry farming, these products can be very well used for educational purposes as well. A huge number of teachers in various institutions in the USA like to use our RCOM egg observation scope to exhibit to their students the hatching process,” said Bae Jong Yoon, CEO, Autoelex Co. Ltd., adding that these products were already selling in 54 countries worldwide.

In the LED lighting segment, ALLIX Co. is bringing specialized LED lights with Color Rendering Index (CRI), Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) and Color consistency technology, while Hudeco Co will offer Special LED light snap frame, panels, and deco lightings.

Reputer Co. in the smart education category displayed Smart Education for K12 tools for smart learning and SEGI Co. put at display the solar energy water purification system for water bodies.

“Since India is fast approaching to the digital world and promoting software and smart education, we are trying to provide an easy solution for teachers to easily teach smart education and farming.  For this we have introduced a multimedia learning device called Farmingbox_01 Components in which the students can grow plants and control temperature, light, humidity and watering remotely too,” said Dong B. Kim, Chief Innovation and Business Development Officer.

According to KOTRA, the B2B business meets on November 8 offered the Indian businessmen the opportunities for direct imports, marketing tie-ups and joint venture possibilities with the Korean companies, which are primarily the global sellers from the Korean industry.

The Indian businessmen would also learn about the emerging science and art of Korean products showcased for the Indian market.

The event also offered the opportunity to discuss with the KOTRA team for other sourcing requirements and also get information on trade exhibitions being hosted in Korea for potential visits there.

KOTRA was established in 1962 to contribute to the development of the Korean economy and was mandated to do trade promotion, boost trade between domestic and foreign companies and support industrial technology cooperation.
