New Delhi, India – In a moment of pride and historic reflection, the much-awaited book titled “70 Years of Korean History in India” is set to be officially launched and dedicated to the Korean and Indian communities during a grand ceremony on June 24, 2025, at Hotel Crowne Plaza in Gurugram, near New Delhi. The event is expected to bring together prominent dignitaries, community leaders, and members of the Korean diaspora to celebrate 70 years of a vibrant Korean presence in India.

This 553-page iconic publication, the first of its kind written in Korean and English, documents the remarkable journey of the Korean community in India from 1954 to 2024 — a narrative of resilience, enterprise, and cultural integration.

The book, the result of over three years of meticulous documentation and research, was spearheaded by the Federation of Korean Associations in India in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Overseas Koreans Agency.

The highlight of the evening will be the formal unveiling of the book by a distinguished panel of chief guests, including Mr. Bhupender Yadav, Hon’ble Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India; H.E. Mr. Lee Seong-ho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India; and Mr. Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa and former CEO of NITI Aayog.

Besides top diplomates from the Korean Embassy in India, the Consulate Generals in Mumbai and Chennai, , Korean associations present in nine regions of India, KOCHAM member companies, KOSMA member companies, the Democratic Peace Unification Advisory Council, Delhi University/Jawaharlal Nehru University, Korean language schools, various social groups, will participate in this gran book launch ceremony.

The programme will commence with registration at 5:30 PM, followed by the Book Launch Ceremony at 6:00 PM. The unveiling is poised to be a symbolic moment, honoring the pioneers who laid the foundation of the Korean-Indian community and paved the way for future generations.

At 7:30 PM, the event will transition into the Installation Ceremony, during which the Federation of Korean Associations in India will witness a formal leadership change as the new President takes charge. This moment of generational continuity reflects the Federation’s commitment to a stronger and more organized community presence in India for the years to come.

The evening will conclude with a networking dinner from 8:30 to 9:30 PM, offering guests an opportunity to connect and engage in informal dialogue around the shared past and evolving future of Korean-Indian relations.

Don Park, the outgoing President of the Federation of Korean Associations in India, remarked, “This book is a tribute to all those who have worked tirelessly to build a life and legacy here in India.
