Mela! Mela! Anime Japan!! Returns with Double the Japanese Content in Delhi

New Delhi, India  – West Delhi is set to be swept up in a wave of Japanese pop culture this September as Mela! Mela! Anime Japan!! (MMAJ) returns with its 2025 edition at Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden. Following the overwhelming success of its debut last year, which attracted 47,200 visitors, the much-anticipated festival will once again bring fans face-to-face with authentic Japanese anime, brands, and cultural experiences—this time with double the content.

Scheduled for September 13–14, 2025, the event promises to captivate over 50,000 attendees, offering a more profound and broader experience of Japan’s creative and cultural industries. Entry is free, although some special screenings and programs may require ticketing.

Organised by the MMAJ Executive Committee with the support of the Embassy of Japan, Government of India, JCCII, JETRO, JFF, JLOX+, and the Japan Association Delhi, the 2025 edition will showcase content from 20 anime-related companies, twice as many as last year.

Fans can look forward to iconic names such as Doraemon, Shin Chan, BEYBLADE X, Tougen Anki, Kamen Rider, and Godzilla, alongside cutting-edge titles like Takopi’s Original Sin, Princession Orchestra, Rooster Fighter, Rolling Along, MAKE A GIRL, and TOJIMA TANZABURO WANTS TO BE “KAMEN RIDER (MASKED RIDER)”. Beloved classics like 5 Centimetres Per Second will also return, adding a nostalgic touch to the vibrant lineup.

Beyond Screenings: Full Cultural Immersion: 

MMAJ 2025 goes far beyond anime screenings. The festival will feature exhibition booths dedicated to anime, manga, and Japanese IPs, film screenings (some ticketed) introducing Japanese animation masterpieces, hands-on workshops led by anime-related companies, cultural stalls from Japanese companies and organizations showcasing products and services, food booths offering delicacies from popular Japanese restaurants across Delhi NCR, and stage events including cosplay competitions, J-pop and anison (anime song) concerts, and interactive sessions with artists.

An Authentic Slice of Japan in Delhi: 

This year’s edition is positioned as a complete “mini-Japan experience” in the heart of the capital. With expanded cultural programming, MMAJ 2025 aims to offer fans, families, and first-time visitors a chance not only to watch and celebrate anime but also to explore Japanese culture, cuisine, and innovation.

The organisers are confident that the buzzing atmosphere, enriched lineup, and interactive showcases will ensure the festival cements itself as one of India’s premier Japan-related cultural events.
