Garba & Dandiya by Japanese-Korean women troupe Chhail Chhabili at Navratri Mahotsav tomorrow
Shree Gujarat Samaj Gurgaon (SGSG) Celebrates the 19th edition of its 10-day-long Navratri Mahotsav 2025 with fervour and ecstasy in Gurugram.
Gururgram, India – The 10-day-long Navratri Mahotsav 2025 would turn very special on Wednesday. The Japanese & Korean women dance group Chhail Chhabili is all set to put the stage on fire with its scintillating garba and dandiya performance tomorrow, on Friday, in Gurugram. Organised by Shree Gujarati Samaj Gurgaon (SGSG), the 19th edition of Navratri Mahotsav was kicked off with unmatched energy, vibrant colours, and traditional fervour at the Royal Swan Banquet & Garden, Sector 33, Gurgaon, on September 22 and will continue until October 1.
Last year, too, the same Chhail Chhabili dance group had performed amidst hundreds of fully charged Gujarati community members who danced to the tunes of garba and dandiya in their traditional style.
However, the Chhail Chhabili dance group, which included dynamic Ajiki san, a Zumba instructor, and Kobayashi san, Taki san, Koyama san, Jin san, Tejima san, Kidani san, Oguchi san, and Sanada san, had stunned them all with their electrifying garba performance. The performance was choreographed by Ravija Verma.
The word Chhail Chhabili is derived from the Hindi language dictionary, and it is generally used for a happening woman devoted to style and fashion. All group members were seen clad in traditional Gujarati Garba attire while performing to give their performance a natural Gujarati flavour.
The Samaj is registered with the Govt of Haryana under the HRRS Act 2012 and as an NGO under the DARPAN Scheme of the Govt of India. Since its formation, Shree Gujarati Samaj Gurgaon Samaj has been carrying out various social welfare and cultural activities not only for the people of Gujarati Community residing in Gurgaon but for society at large.
Every evening promises a power-packed line-up — from choreographed Garba and Dandiya performances by the SGSG Stree Shakti Group, international groups from Japan & Korea, to spirited participation from independent Garba & Dandiya enthusiasts. Adding to the festivities are special Aartis, Maha Prasad, and cultural showcases, creating a vibrant mix of devotion and celebration.
Gujarat’s Navratri Festival is “a circle of ecstasy” that throbs non-stop for nine nights with fantastically costumed devotees swaying in a fusion of traditional Garba & Dandiya dance and devotion. Although this festival is celebrated at various places across the city, nowhere is it performed with more tradition, panache, and fervour than at the SGSG Navratri Mahotsav in Gurgaon.
The SGSG Navratri Mahotsav 2025 is already witnessing overwhelming participation, turning Gurgaon into a hub of cultural excitement and devotion this festive season. Rajdeep Mahida, President, Shree Gujarati Samaj Gurgaon, commented on this occasion.
“Shree Gujarati Samaj Gurgaon wishes a pleasant Navratri to all the people. SGSG is committed to preserving and promoting Gujarati Culture, heritage, and values. The SGSG Navratri Festival is one such way of bringing people together, not only from the Gujarati community but from all sections of society.”
“SGSG will be celebrating all major Gujarati Festivals and invites people from the Gujarati Community to join the Samaj to help advance its core objective. Navratri is a celebration of culture, community, and devotion. At SGSG, we are dedicated to preserving Gujarati heritage while creating a platform that welcomes people from diverse backgrounds. This Mahotsav is our way of bringing society together in joy and unity,” Rajdeep Mahida added.
