Japan Artopedia to Unfold in Ahmedabad Today Evening
Celebrating 50 Years of Indo-Japan Friendship Association, Gujarat. A grand cultural evening celebrates half a century of friendship with art, cuisine, and shared traditions.
Ahmedabad, July 10, 2025 — In a vibrant celebration of five decades of enduring friendship between India and Japan, the Indo-Japan Friendship Association, Gujarat, is all set to launch its Golden Jubilee celebrations this evening at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Ahmedabad. The event, titled Japan Artopedia, promises to be a scintillating showcase of Japan’s timeless arts and rich cultural heritage woven together under one roof.
The distinguished chief guest for the evening is H.E. Mr. Keiichi Ono, Ambassador of Japan to India, who will grace the occasion and lead the ceremonial launch of the Golden Jubilee milestone. The event is inspired by the Honorary Consulate of Japan in Ahmedabad and supported by Hotel Hyatt Regency, reflecting a unique collaboration to strengthen cultural ties.
The celebrations will commence at 7:00 PM with a warm welcome and meet & greet session, aptly named Yokoso, setting the tone for an evening of cultural immersion. At 7:45 PM, the ceremonial launch of the Golden Jubilee will take place with a traditional Kampai toast, marking the official beginning of the milestone celebrations.
A major highlight of the evening will be a seven-course sit-down fusion dinner from 8:15 PM to 8:55 PM, titled Oishii, which promises to bring together authentic Japanese flavors presented in a distinct Gujarati style — “Nippon no Swaad… Gujarati Andaaz ma!” This carefully curated culinary experience is designed to offer guests a truly unique taste of the Land of the Rising Sun combined with local touches.
Guests are encouraged to dress in smart casual attire and are requested to be seated in time for the ceremonial toast and dinner. The evening will conclude with a wrap-up session, Sayonara, from 8:55 PM to 9:00 PM.
Adding to the cultural richness of the evening, all attendees will receive complimentary copies of Japan Artopedia, a special publication showcasing Japan’s literary arts, fine arts, performing arts, and martial arts, as well as Inspirations from Japan — Nippon’s Memoirs to Treasure.
The event, aptly themed Kem Chhe — Konnichiwa, embodies the spirit of cross-cultural dialogue and friendship, merging the warmth of Gujarati hospitality with the elegance of Japanese traditions. As the Indo-Japan Friendship Association celebrates 50 momentous years since its founding in 1975, tonight’s program is expected to be a memorable chapter in the long-standing relationship between the two nations.
The festivities will take place at the Regency Ballroom, Hotel Hyatt Regency, Ashram Road, Ahmedabad, from 7 PM onwards today.
