Bridging Nations Through Exhibitions: Korea, India, and Future of Global Collaboration
By Phil Chung, CEO, KINEXIN Convention Management, Operator of Yashobhoomi (India International Convention & Expo Centre), New Delhi.
The relationship between Korea and India is no longer a matter of distant diplomacy—it is rapidly becoming one of the most meaningful partnerships shaping the future of global trade, culture, and innovation.
As the operating company of Yashobhoomi, Kinexin Convention Management recently had the privilege of hosting a landmark roadshow in Korea on March 25, in collaboration with our parent company, KINTEX. The event brought together approximately 350 distinguished participants, including leading exhibition organizers, convention planners, event producers, media representatives, and influential digital creators with millions of subscribers.
What we witnessed was not just participation—it was passion. A deep and growing enthusiasm for India was evident across industries and communities in Korea.
The roadshow reflected this unique cultural convergence. A prominent beauty influencer from India, known for her love of Korean K-beauty, joined us on stage. So did Lucky (Abhishek Gupta), a beloved broadcaster in Korea and an honorary ambassador for KINTEX, whose presence symbolized the human bridge between our two nations.

Returning to India after this inspiring journey, we carry with us not only momentum but also responsibility. We are now actively bringing a diverse portfolio of Korean-led events into India—spanning K-pop and cultural content, beauty and cosmetics, wellness, housing, advanced technology, and AX (AI Transformation). These are not just exhibitions; they are platforms for future industries, knowledge exchange, and global connectivity.
Through these efforts, Korea is increasingly becoming one of our most important global client markets. Major Korean corporations and world-class event organizers are planning to host a growing number of exhibitions and conventions at Yashobhoomi throughout the year.
At the same time, our identity remains uniquely positioned. Kinexin Convention Management operates Yashobhoomi with the backing of KINTEX, a government-owned exhibition leader of Korea. I myself serve in a dual capacity—as CEO of Yashobhoomi in India and as Executive Director of KINTEX in Korea. This dual role allows us to align strategies, mobilize networks, and ensure that both institutions thrive together.
We are not simply organizing events—we are building a long-term bridge. Following the recent roadshow, we are actively collaborating with leading Korean organizers to establish a pipeline of trade exhibitions in India that could extend for the next 20 years and beyond.
This is not just business. It is a mission: India has now become my second home. Its growth brings me personal fulfillment, and I firmly believe that India’s success is also a source of pride for Korea. The prosperity of one strengthens the other.
With the recent Korea–India summit as a catalyst, we stand at the threshold of a new era. There is an opportunity to ignite deeper, more meaningful collaboration—not only at the governmental level, but across industries, cultures, and people.
I sincerely hope that this momentum will spark a new wave of growth in the exhibition and convention sectors of both countries. Yashobhoomi, alongside Korea’s exhibition ecosystem, is ready to play a central role in this shared journey.
The bridge has been built. Now, together, we must walk across it.
